A Pair of Koalas Announce Their Engagement with POP!

Jessica and David got engaged on the 14th of December in 2011 at Walt Disney World during one of the most magical events that Disney puts on, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. How does an engagement like this happen? Well I asked the couple and this is what they told me....

The couple traveled around the United States for 4 weeks in the month of December that year. Dave had originally planned to ask Jess to marry him in New York City. They would be in the Big Apple for Christmas and New Year's and this seemed like the most magical time to do it. However, the most magical place on Earth chaged Dave's mind and the night of the Christmas Party while they were sitting at Swan Boat Landing (the location for Magic Kingdom weddings for those that don't know) Dave got down on one knee and asked Jess to spend the rest of her life with him. She obviously said yes and now less than a year later they made their way back to Disney World and had engagement pictures taken.

The couple will tie the knot on October 3rd of 2013 and the best part is that we get to share the journey with them. The couple not only chose Randy for their engagement pictures but for their wedding as well. The wedding will take place at the Swan & Dolphin resort at Crescent Terrace. They will follow it up with an intimate reception at Il Mulino, a restaurant inside of the Swan.

The engagement shoot took place at Disney's POP! Century resort. The reasons couples choose different resorts vary but for this couple it was a more sentimental reason. The resort they stayed at on their engagement trip was Pop so to them it only made sense to do it there. Another aspect of Pop for the couple is that it is just so different from hotels down under.

To add a little more Disney flair the couple bought Mickey Mouse balloons to use in the shoot and they really made the pictures POP! pun most definitely intended.

Disney is very important to the couple. Not only did they share a love for Disney movies before but now that they got engaged at Disney World the magic of Disney has infused its way into their lives forever. To the couple Disney is the essence of happy. They have always had such a great time when they visit Disney World and it helps them stay young at heart. I think this was the true goal for Walt Disney, he wanted to provide a place where adults and children alike could share in the magic.

The couple loved working with Randy because he was so easy going and really helped them get comfortable. Randy also had a good time with the couple he loves working with his out of the country couples. It always gives him the opportunity to learn new things. The couple was kind enough to bring Randy a little gift all the way from the land of Koalas which he now proudly displays!

UK Couples & Friends Get Married - Couple #1 Natalie & Matt

In the wedding world sometimes amazing stories are told. Many times these amazing stories come to us from across the pond. While in most cases these stories are caught by TV cameras and put on channels like TLC, the stories I am going to share with you are uniquely that of Chapman Photography.

Once upon a time there were 5 engaged couples all from the UK. These couples all just happened to be friends. These friends have one thing in common, they are all getting married in Florida at either Cypress Grove Fulton's Crab House or Walt Disney World. I will be shooting all of their weddings while Carrie with Destination Occasion will be Planning and coordinating them.

Natalie and Matt were the first ones up. They were married on September 6th. The next couple was Sophie and Lee their wedding took place soon on September 12. A unique aspect of these weddings is they all will be sharing a Parasol in which I will be posting their names and wedding dates on them.

For all of Randy's fans, brides, couples and families my name is Teresa Delgado. I am a Disney Bride and also a Randy Bride. Randy photographed our engagement session, wedding and bridal portraits. It was an amazing pleasure working with him and over time we really got to know each other.

I am an internet blogger/journalist/podcaster and while the majority of my talents lie in the world of nerd/geek fandom I also found I had a passion for weddings, brides and romance.

There are many questions I know clients may have, such as what qualifications do you have to write on this blog? I have been running my own blog/website for 2 years it is strongly focused on things like Star Wars, Disney, Harry Potter and other pop culture things. I also have added a podcast to that website that currently has 4 episodes with many more to come. In addition to this as of this summer I have become part of the journalistic staff for two Star Wars fansites, The Star Wars Report and Jedi News UK. As for weddings I just went throught the year long process of planning my own Disney wedding and I know what Brides/Couples go through. I know what it means to have that special day and I also know what it means to have your story out there to share with the world. Many of you may be wondering how I ended up here on a wedding photographer's blog? Quite simply Randy asked me to come and write for him and I of course could not say no the man that has become more than my photographer, he has become my friend.

Another question I know many people are probably wondering is how can I be of service to you? My goal in writing the blog is to be of service to all the couples and families that Randy photographs. I want to be able to give you more than just your prized pictures posted on the site. I want to bring your story to life. My goal is to supplement the pictures with a few words here and there so that when you share your blog feature with family, friends or your internet world they can feel like they really truly know you.

What's New With That Randy Guy?

Randy Chapman stays pretty busy with Disney Weddings but when he is not doing that he is not short of work to do. He has a passion for what he does and never stops trying to improve. It is with that knowledge that I would like to give you an introduction to the world of Randy and what is new.

We all know that Randy likes to work with Disney Brides, Disney Couples and Disney Families. The question is how did he get here? and why does he love the Disney Fairytale so much?

How he started with photography: Randy started off in New York City where he shot up and coming models for 2 years. He discovered his passion for photography and when he went home to his state of Florida he started to get involved with the wedding business

How he got involved with Disney: Randy had been shooting weddings for 6 years when he was recognized by a former Disney Bride Andrea Rotondo in 1997. She was actually a past Disney Bride herself. Andrea is the creator of the Disneymooners website and forums. Randy owes a lot to Andrea because she posted a link to his website within the Disneymooners and the Unofficial Disney Wedding Guide. From there things took off for him and for the past 17 years he has been working with Disney's Fairtytale Weddings. The Disney weddings are 90% of his wedding business

Other things Randy likes to shoot: When not doing weddings Randy likes to shoot honeymoons, anniversaries, families, family reunions, and he really loves doing engagement shoots. The engagement shoot for him is fun because he gets to meet the couple and share in their excitement about their upcoming wedding. He also loves them if he is also being hired for the wedding so that he learns how to work with the couple.

What he loves about working with Disney: Randy really enjoys working with the staff at Disney's Fairytale Weddings. He has worked with many of them for years so they are good friends. He also likes shooting the monorail with his couples and Cinderella's carriage.

Where would Randy get married at Disney? He would get married at the Wedding Pavillion because of its built in A/C and it is its own rain back up! Plus he thinks it provides great photo backdrops in and around the area. He would have his reception at the Atlantic Dance Hall because of its location at the Boardwalk and availability for photos.

What are Randy's Disney Favorites? Randy loves Pluto and always has a great time with him when he shows up as a character at weddings. His favorite Disney World ride is the Haunted Mansion. When at Disney World he likes to go to Epcot and eat his way across the world showcase. I have also discovered that Randy loves the Lion King. I discovered this through our time working together he loves that Simba guy!

So what is new with Randy? Randy has a lot of new things for 2013 and the end of 2012 and it looks like things are going to get really fun. It is a great time to be a Chapman Photography Bride!

• New Packages for 2013: Randy will be rolling out some great new packages that will be great for those Disney Brides out there. You can expect some great budget options
• Photobooth With Props: That is right folks you will now have the option to have a photobooth at your reception! The photobooth will come with props including Mickey Ear Hats!
• Wedding Planning Book: Randy is looking to begin writing his book soon on how to plan a magical Disney Wedding. He wants to help brides through the entire process from engagement through the wedding day. He plans to have as many photos as text to help brides be able to visualize their big day.

Kaitlin & Tim: Fun & Classy at Walt Disney World

Kaitlin and Tim are a true Disney couple that is full of class with some geekiness built right in. The lovely couple was married on August, 29th, 2012. They truly are a fairy tale couple as they said their vows to each other right down the path from Cinderella's Castle inside of the Magic Kingdom. Randy was there to capture their day by doing a Rehearsal Dinner shoot at the Polynesian and a Bridal Shoot on wedding day. The Bridal shoot took place at the Grand Floridian, Wedding Pavillion and the Contemporary Resort where they made sure to get some shots with the Monorail.

Kaitlin and Tim met back in 2010 through some mutual friends and ever since they have been inseperable. Kaitlin is a huge Disney fan and has been ever since she can remember. The one thing she does remember was when she was a child her one true wish was to be married by Cinderella's Castle. All she wanted was to be a real life Disney Princess. Tim is truly her Prince as his goal once they got engaged was to give her that dream. When they decided on doing a "Castle Ceremony" as many Disney Brides would call it she knew that she would be needing a photographer to get some very special shots for her.

When thinking about what photos were the most important to her she knew she had to have the classic Grand Floridian pictures. In addition to these she also wanted to document her Rehearsal Dinner. As she tried to decide who she would use she landed on Randy due to his personality and ability to build and customize a package that worked for her big day.

When I asked Kaitlin about why she chose a Disney wedding and what Disney meant to her she immediately responded with "The magic, memories and you". This projection show that is shown directly on Cinderella's Castle holds so much meaning for the couple. It epitomizes what Disney has meant to them in their relationship and life together. The show debuted in 2011 and it showcases images of all the Disney guests to visit the Magic Kingdom that day. The purpose of the show is to remind everyone that the memories and magic that they create will live on forever in their hearts. This is true for Kaitlin and Tim as they cherish all of the moments they have spent together in the Magic Kingdom.

From this day forward Kaitlin and Tim will walk into the Magic Kingdom, head down the path to Swan Landing, and as they arrive they will turn and look up at the beauty of Cinderella's Castle. When they look up at it they will remember they day they committed themselves to each other and pledged to walk down this path for the rest of their lives.

Congratulations to Kaitlin and Tim I wish you a truly magical Happily Ever After.
